The Penguins' Remix jersey looks like a screen print from the 1960s. The skating penguin crest gets halftone dots and slightly offset colors, the penguin itself is the light blue from the club's early years, and the gold triangle behind it has a dotted texture. The base is a rich blue that traces back to the inaugural 1967 season.
The pop-art style is a nod to Pittsburgh's art scene, including its most famous pop artist, without naming him. One shoulder patch is an igloo for the old Civic Arena, and the other is a triangle for the Three Rivers. The back numbers use the same halftone and offset effect, and the inside hem repeats PITTSBURGH in colors that stand for the city's neighborhoods.
It is worn with navy helmets and pants and socks striped in light blue and gold. Of all the Remix designs, this is the one that looks most like art you could hang on a wall.
